On September 22–23, 2025, members of the OMB and the management of the Jiwuwu Village Seaweed Production House joined an industrial visit and partnership program in Kupang. The activity aimed to give participants hands-on experience in seaweed production management.

During the visit, participants practiced quality control, sorting and handling, recording, and storage. According to one participant, Mrs. Oktaviana Mone, the experience allowed them to directly apply what had previously only been discussed and imagined in the production house. The practice helped clarify the production model and work stages to be implemented later.

Key findings from the activity showed that participants understood the production process flow, from receiving materials, production, and storage to product distribution. They also discussed potential risks at each stage and the price dynamics. Through reflection, participants realized that the biggest challenge lies in the low awareness among farmers about improving product quality, while the image of seaweed from Sabu Raijua remains poor.

In addition, the partnership proposal from OMB received positive feedback from PT. Sea Aditya Jaya’s management. The company recognized OMB Wuke Rohedui and its production house as having strong potential to become a model for improving seaweed quality from Sabu Raijua. The partnership is also expected to expand market networks and strengthen the company’s market position.

For participants, the most tangible benefit from the visit was the opportunity to understand the stages of production, market networks, and the necessary management structure. OMB plans to hold follow-up discussions to compile findings as a reference for production house management, including the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

This partnership also serves as OMB’s strategy to raise seaweed product quality standards, ensure product acceptance, update market price information, access financial and equipment support, and build the management team’s capacity.
