Audience to Strengthen Collaboration on the Sustainable Local Food Self Reliance System Program in Sabu Raijua Regency
The Regent of Sabu Raijua received a delegation from Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia at the Regent’s Office in Sabu Raijua. The meeting served as a dialogue platform to strengthen the implementation of the Sustainable Local Food Self Reliance System Project SSRLFS C in Sabu Raijua Regency.

The audience was attended by Rina Wijaya, Director of Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia, Kristina as Project Manager of the SSRLFS-C Project, and the Sabu Raijua project team. From the local government, the Regent of Sabu Raijua, Krisman Bernard Riwu Kore, S.E., M.M., was present.
The discussion covered several key issues, including the progress of partner groups organized in eight Community Based Organizations. Throughout 2025, members participated in various activities and capacity building initiatives focused on community organizing, sustainable local resource based economic development, and advocacy to village and regency governments.
The team also shared updates on the production houses, which are currently producing seaweed and pig livestock. The production houses operate under a business management system that includes raw material management and farmer and breeder support, implementation of standard operating procedures in the production process, human resource management involving local community workers, and market network management. The seaweed production house is expected to produce up to 14 tons of seaweed per month with a profit margin of 30 to 35 percent.

The Regent expressed appreciation for the contribution of Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia in expanding access to benefits for the community, especially amid local government budget efficiency measures. The Regent also committed to conducting joint field monitoring with the Community Based Organizations and production house management in April 2026 to review conditions, needs, and potential policy support. During the dialogue, several needs for strengthening supporting facilities to improve distribution efficiency were also conveyed.
Through this audience, both parties agreed to strengthen collaboration in community facilitation, community learning centers, and policy references. This collaboration aims to ensure the sustainability of the production houses, increase the added value of local commodities, and strengthen community participation in regional development.
