YSI Staff Meeting 2025: Semester I Progress and Adjustments for Semester II Plans

For two days, on July 16–17, 2025, all staff of Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia (YSI) gathered for the Semester I Staff Meeting. This meeting served as a space for consolidation among commissions and bureaus to evaluate program implementation, discuss achievements and challenges affecting organizational goals, socialize policies and values, and strengthen human resource capacity. It also marked an important moment to adjust the Semester II program plans, follow up on completed projects, and delve into the Operational Work Guidelines (POK) as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance the effectiveness of future program implementation.
The first day began with an opening by Andreas Subiyono, who emphasized the importance of active involvement and contribution from all staff in evaluating the performance of commissions and bureaus constructively, including how to assess human resources as a working team. “If we do not have a vision of our own capacity five or ten years from now, then the programs we develop will become nothing more than routine activities without direction,” he stated.

This Staff Meeting was particularly engaging due to the use of a creative and participatory method that encouraged full team involvement from each commission and bureau. The method used was a market stall or café stand approach, which challenged each group to design visually appealing and informative presentations about their semester achievements. Staff who were not presenting played the role of stall visitors, critically listening and providing feedback in one of three categories: questions, data clarification, or suggestions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all staff were encouraged to critically reflect on the input and recommendations as a basis for revising Semester II plans. Staff were expected to conduct risk analysis and redefine indicators for the second semester, taking into account effectiveness, efficiency, and context relevant to their respective areas of work. This year, the supervision and enforcement of workplace protection and safety policies became a key priority across all levels and work areas within YSI.

Furthermore, the lessons learned from the evaluation process and this staff meeting are intended to serve as an adaptive, synergistic, and impactful internal reflection. These reflections will continue to shape YSI’s knowledge as an organization committed to community empowerment and a reliable partner for its stakeholders.
